Police arrests suspected criminals, prostitutes at Tarkwa railways station
The Police in Tarkwa have arrested 35 suspected criminals and prostitutes at the Tarkwa Railways station.
The suspects, 22 males and 11 females, were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday when security personnel made up of police, military, prison, fire and immigration stormed their hideout.
In addition to the arrest temporary wooden structures along the Railways were pulled down and burned and items seized included boxes of condoms, drinks, clothing, television sets, DVD player, utensils and standing fans.
The crime officer in charge of Tarkwa, Superintendent of Police David Kofi Gyabaa told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that due to criminal activity around the Tarkwa Railways Station the security agencies decided to organize the exercise in order to flash out criminals form the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipality.
Mr. Gyabaah appealed to the public to trust the police service and report any criminal activity they detect in their area to help them.
The Tarkwa Divisional Commander, Assistance Commissioner of Polic Paul Ayitey congratulated the security personnel.
