CrowdThe various supporters groups in the country have pledged to operate under one umbrella, as part of efforts to present a united supporters front for the national teams.

The supporters would henceforth appear in one uniform during national team matches and this would be exhibited during the World Cup qualifier between the Black Stars and Sudan at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi next month.

This was announced at a joint press conference organized by the various supporters body.

Vicentia Deku, president of the National Women Supporters Union (NAWSU) who addressed the press conference said, “We have decided to come together  from now on, we see supporters from countries like Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Togo and others in one uniform”.

“We believe when we come together, we would appeal better to the corporate world for sponsorship for our operations. We want to bury our  differences and forge ahead as one group.” She noted.

She also expressed appreciation to the government for funding their activities during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

“We the members of the various Supports Unions of Ghana want to express our deepest and heartfelt appreciation to the government of Ghana, for making funds available despite budgetary constraints.

“Qualifiers for Brazil 2014 will resume in the next few weeks, we  wish to assure the nation of our unflinching support to the national team and make our presence known during the qualifiers.” She added.

The conference was attended by Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa leader of the National Supporters Union (NSU), James Aduaquah Supporters Union of Ghana (SUGHA).
