Fuel smugglers arrested at Ghana-Ivory Coast border town

BorderSeven fuel smugglers have been busted for illegally dealing in petroleum products by a security taskforce at Sefwi Akaatiso, a Ghana/Cote D’Ivoire border town in Bia West District.

The taskforce, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police John Appiah-Kubi apprehended and seized nine -and-half gallons of fuel, two plastic containers and one drum containing petroleum products from the suspects.

They are Ernest Banie,Ernest Gamah,Solomon Atta Egan,Noel Kaartey,Abu Fuseini,Abdulai Rahiman and Nuhu Abdulai Rahiman.

The task force, made up of personnel from the police, military, Customs and Immigration Service were on an operation dubbed “Operation Hunter” and arrested them on February 15.

The suspects are in police custody assisting the police in their investigations.
