Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong, the Executive Board Chairman, said Kotoko was hungry for success and that they had put in place adequate measures for a successful campaign.
The playing body and technical team, he said, have been sufficiently motivated to play their hearts out adding that, the management and the board had met with the leadership of the supporters to rally them behind the team for success.
Kotoko last won the continental trophy in 1983 and had since been struggling to repeat the feat.
Speaking to the media in Kumasi ahead of the match, Dr Sarpong announced the signing of some new players to strengthen the team.
They include Togolese-import, Sheriff Mahma, Abdul Aziz, formerly of Real Tamale United, Bobie Ansah, a former Kessben player and Kofi Agyare, formerly of Hearts of Oak.
He vowed that they would go all out to ensure a massive victory to make the return leg a walkover.
Mr. Jerry Asare, a Board Member, said they were aware of the stiff opposition that their opponents could pose and had mapped up an effective strategy to overcome them.
