US-based NGO to start new school project for Mankumida

PupilsA ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of school block by J.T. Visions, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in USA, has been held at Awutu Mankumida near Kasoa.

The school project which would be constructed from kindergarten to the university level by the NGO would be in phases in collaboration with the Awutu-Senya District Assembly.

Mr Sampson Armah Abaquaye, Awutu-Senya District Chief Executive, cutting the sod on the 25-acre land released by Neeyn Kwame Kwei, Ebusuapayne of the community free of charge for the commencement of the project, thanked the Ebusuapayin and all who through their efforts the land was released.

He said the Assembly would contribute its quota to ensure that the project was executed to ensure the development of the area.

Mrs Jamie Eisenbist, Chief Executive Officer of the NGO and Leader of a delegation from United States of America at the ceremony presented a ram to the chiefs and people of the area to signify their appreciation for release of the land for the project.

She assured the Assembly and the people of the area of their commitment to construct the school building for them on time.

Later, Mrs Eisenbist was enstooled as Development Queenmother of the town under the stool name Nachie Ekua Larley I.

She expressed gratitude to the people for the honour done her and promised to work with them for the development of the area.
