Let’s engage, encourage, empower the youth – Canadian Senator

Job SeekersMr Ben Meredith, a Senator from Canada, has underscored the need to engage, encourage and empower the youth in order for them to grow into responsible adults.

Senator Meredith, who is in the country for the first time on an official visit, made the call on Friday when he interacted with personnel of the Ashaiman Divisional Police Command during a visit.

He was of the view that with the right direction and support and given the proper education, young people would exert their energies on profitable ventures towards the development of their countries.

Senator Meredith commended personnel of the Division for their strenuous efforts in helping to reduce crime in the Municipality.

He, however, urged them not to be complacent but to work extra hard to ensure peace in Ashaiman at all times since, “a stable community is a productive community.”

He pledged experts and resources from Canada to assist the Divisional Police Command in its efforts at ensuring effective policing within the Municipality.

Chief Superintendent David Eklu, Ashaiman Divisional Police Commander, thanked the Senator for the visit and hoped it would help cement the existing bonds of cordial relationship between Ghana and Canada.

Senator Meredith later paid a courtesy call on the Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive, Numo Adinortey Addison.
