Two truck pushers fined for violating AMA ban

law-and-justiceThe Accra Community Centre Court “A” presided by Mr Ali Baba on Wednesday fined two truck pushers GH¢1,200 for violating the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) ban not to operate around some streets in the metropolis.

Musah Mohammed and Abdul Kadri Sulemana, both truck pushers of Agbogbloshie market, were fined GH¢600 each on their own plea of guilty, or in default six months imprisonment each.

Nii Aryee said the accused persons were arrested on the same day and charged with the offence to appear in court.

In a related development, Dr Simpson Anim Boateng, Director of AMA Public Health in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the AMA had put in place stringent measures to curb the menace of noise nuisance made especially by churches in Accra.

This is a disgrace for Ghana. These hardworking boys get punished for trying to make a living. Now you send them to prison to turn them into criminals, how stupid. Ever thought about creating alternative jobs for them. They are currently doing jobs that a Ga or Akan are too noble for. You should thank these boys from Agblobloshie for keeping Accra clean!
