Ghana-Turkey trade volume reaches $550m in 2012

oilTrade volume between Ghana and Turkey reached $550 million in 2012, Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan has announced.

This was an increase from $290 million in 2010.

Turkey is now targeting a billion-dollar two-way trade with Ghana within the next two years.

Mr Caglayan disclosed this at the Turkey-Ghana Trade & Investment Forum held in Istanbul January 22, 2013, reports Turkish-state owned news agency Anadolu.

The Forum was attended by Ghana’s President John Mahama who was on a state visit to Turkey.

The Minister told his Turkish businessmen to eye the energy, oil, natural gas, food, agriculture, defense industry and construction sectors in Ghana.
