The Kumasi airport, one of Ghana’s key region airports will be closed down temporarily December 18, 2012, the Ghana Airports Company Ltd (GACL) has announced.

The closure is to enable managers of the airport to undertake some rehabilitation works on the runway, officials said in a statement December 14, 2012.

“…the Kumasi Airport will be closed on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 for rehabilitation works on the runway,” the GACL said.

This means domestic flights to Kumasi will be suspended on that day.

The airport will however be re-opened for domestic flights Wednesday, December 19, 2012, the company indicated.
