UK-Ghana record £767m export trade in 2011

The value of export trade between Ghana and the United Kingdom (UK) reached £767 million in 2011, the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) indicated in a report it released mid-November 2012.

The report, ‘Doing Business in Ghana’, which was produced by the UKTI Team in Accra, noted that in 2011 the value of UK export goods to Ghana was £426 million which was an increase of 20% on 2010 figures.

Ghana’s exports to the UK, on the other hand, were valued at £341 million, an increase of 51% on 2010 figures, according to the report adding that “majority of these exports was cocoa”.

For the year 2011, Ghana was UK’s sixth largest export market in Africa and eight largest import market in Africa.
