Late call-ups for two Ghanaian players

Kwesi Appiah – Black Stars coach

Ghana Coach, Kwesi Appiah has drafted two additions to his squad billed to engage Cape Verde in a FIFA international friendly day  game in Lisbon, Portugal on Wednesday, November 14.

According to information pieced together by GNA Sports, midfielder Afriyie Acquah and China-based defender Lee Addy have been drafted into the squad.

The two have been called up as replacement for Captain, Asamoah Gyan and Jonathan Mensah who have both  pulled out of the friendly.

Gyan withdrew from the game which serve Ghana’s last official friendly ahead of the 2013 African Cup of Nations slated for South Africa following the demise of his mother, Cecilia Amoako last week.

France-based defender, Mensah however excused himself from the game after injuring his thigh while playing for his club Evian, last week.

Afriyie and Addy are expected to join the Black Stars camp in Lisbon, late Monday ahead of the Wednesday meeting.

Both countries would use the mid-week game as preparatory duel for the South Africa tourney.
