German Embassy in Ghana introduces online visa appointment system

The German Embassy in Accra, Ghana will introduce a new online visa appointment system from January 1, 2013.

The Embassy in a press release issued in Accra and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com says its contract with VFS Global will end on December 31, 2012 and all applicants for short-term Schengen visa for business purposes, visits, holidays or honouring official or private invitations are then no longer required to submit their application with the German Visa Reception Center in Labone, “instead visa applicants are asked to book an appointment through the Embassy’s online appointment system,” it said.

“Please note that as of January 1, 2013, all appointments for visa (including long-stay visa for family reunion, studying, re-entry, au pair, etc.) have to be booked through the online appointment system,” the Embassy added.

The Embassy urged all applicants to visit the website of the German Embassy for the details.
