Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai collects GH¢713,884.69 revenue end of August 2012

The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly has collected a total revenue of GH¢713,884.69 from traditional sources as of the end August, the District Chief Executive, Mr Joe Adansi Bondah announced on Monday.

The figure represented 80 per cent of the targeted revenue of GH¢891,390.00 it set for the year.

Mr Adansi Bondah, who was addressing an ordinary meeting of the assembly at Bibiani, said he was confident that they were going to exceed the target.

He gave high marks to the Assembly’s revenue collection unit for the strong performance and said he had no doubt that that was going to help push up their share of the Common Fund.

The Assembly, he said, had successfully completed eight projects in the education and health sectors, under the District Development Facility (DDF).

These would be formally inaugurated by the end of this month.

He told the meeting that some feeder roads in the area had been awarded on contract to allow for easy transportation of food and cash crops to the marketing centres.

They include Mframakrom-Adupri-Tanoso, Asawinso-Diaso and the Chirano-Adiembra roads.

He also spoke of efforts at extending electricity to more communities and mentioned among them, Mpesiem, Kwaakrom, Adiembra, Krodua , Aboabo, Kwaaso and Abokyikrom.
