CLOGSAG forms committee to develop plan on outstanding premium payment

The National  Executive Committee of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association(CLOGSAG) has constituted an inter-ministerial committee to develop a workable plan that would inform the decision on modalities for the payment of outstanding premium due its members.

Subsequently, the national executive has appealed to its members to suspend all industrial actions and other activities which may lead to industrial actions as “the inter-ministerial committee has been tasked to begin work immediately”.

The committee has membership drawn from CLOGSAG.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra and signed by Mr. Isaac Bampoe Addo, Executive Secretary of the Association, said the decision to constitute the inter-ministerial committee was arrived at following a meeting held on Thursday September 6, this year, which also assessed the spontaneous eruption of industrial action embarked on by its constituents in the regions.

The statement further said the national executive were  engaged by the Hon. Minister of Employment of Social Welfare and the Hon. Minister for Finance and Economic Planning on the way forward on payment of premium to staff within Civil and Local Government Services.

It therefore appealed to members of CLOGSAG to suspend all industrial actions and activities leading to industrial actions, while they wait for the outcome of the work of the inter-ministerial committee.
