Ghana to set up private sector advisory council

Ghana today September 4, 2012 announced it will by next week establish a private sector advisory council which will be chaired by the President, Mr John Dramani Mahama.

Mr Mahama made the announcement in his first policy statement after becoming President following the death of Prof John Atta Mills.

He said the council will address and remove all bottlenecks in working with the private sector.

It will also receive all complaints from the private sector, President Mahama indicated.

The country’s private sector, which is seen as the engine of growth, has over the years complained about the lack of access to credit, low power supply among others.
