Asante-Mampong Assembly makes over GH¢150,000 internally generated funds
The Asante-Mampong Municipal Assembly mobilised a total of GH¢158,657.71 as internally generated funds (IGF) in the first half of the year.
This represented 93 percent of GH¢170,512.00 it targeted for the period.
Mr Daniel Appau Ohyeamang, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), announced when he addressed the second ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Asante-Mampong.
He described the performance as encouraging but noted that there were still challenges with revenue collection from the traditional sources and said to help tackle these it had set up a task force.
The MCE told the meeting that the government was yet to release the second quarter of this year’s District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and that of the 2009 District Development Fund (DDF) second tranche, for implementation of projects and programmes already approved by the Assembly.
He announced that an ambulance service department had been established to ensure swift response to medical emergencies in the Municipality.
Mr Ohyeamang said office and residential accommodation for officers, operating the service had been provided.
Touching on the upcoming general elections, he urged political parties and their supporters to work together to sustain the peace.
