Atlas Copco Ghana opens industrial training facility

Atlas Copco Ghana, a global industrial productivity solutions provider, has inaugurated an ultra-modern training facility at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region to equip people in the field of industrial technology and engineering.

The facility, which comprises a simulator and training room, has been built to offer a congenial atmosphere for trainees to acquire the requisite knowledge and skills that will help them perform various tasks with excellence.

The General Manager of Atlas Copco Ghana, Mr. George Apostolopoulos speaking at the inauguration at Obuasi recently, emphasized the need for customers to keep their operators updated on current technological and engineering trends in order to boost productivity and ensure best return on investments.

This development, he said, further entrenched Atlas Copco’s leadership position in providing efficient products and services for the sustainable productivity of its customers.

The provision of the facility formed part of Atlas Copco’s ambitious programme to improve the competency, skills and standards for both technicians and operators in the country and beyond in the construction and mining industries.

The facility will also be used for employees and customers of the company attending training seminars and courses under the Atlas Copco’s “Master Driller Programme,” a by-product of the Atlas Copco Performance Services initiative.

The Master Driller programme combines theory and practical training for operators in three distinct levels- Bronze, Silver and Gold.

The programmer mirrors the conditions and tasks the operator faces in different situations in mining and construction operations and provides full knowledge that will benefit the operator in achieving productivity and profitability.

This is supplemented by the Service Level 1 – 3 Certification, a training designed to equip new technicians with the necessary knowledge and expertise to comfortably work on any Atlas Copco equipment.

Atlas Copco is an industrial group with world-leading positions in compressors, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems.
