Eaton Towers appoints executive officers for Ghana

Mobile tower co-location and services company, Eaton Towers has appointed two executive officers for its Ghana operations.

The company has appointed Gareth Townley as Managing Director and Adnan Quddus as Chief Financial Officer, it says in a press release issued in London August 15, 2012 and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com.

The release notes that Gareth Townley has over 10 years’ experience in African telecoms, including most recently CEO at Viasat Broadcasting from 2008 to 2011. Previously Gareth was CEO for Millicom’s cellular businesses in Sierra Leone and Ghana from 2003 to 2007.
Adnan Quddus has over 18 years of experience in leading cellular companies. He was formerly CFO for Orascom Telecel in Namibia and prior to that was CFO for Millicom’s businesses in Ghana and Tanzania, it says.

Eaton Towers is the largest private equity investor in Ghana. The company invested $150 million into the country through Capital International Private Equity Funds in September 2011 and in January 2012 it secured a $30 million debt facility from Standard Bank Group, acting through Stanbic Bank Ghana and the Standard Bank of South Africa for its projects in Ghana.
