Kumasi Metro tells GPRTU to stop operating around Suame roundabout

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has warned the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to stop operating around the Suame roundabout and on the pavements leading to Kejetia.

A press release signed by the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Mr Solomon Asiedu, said the GPRTU had up to Friday, August 10, to remove all vehicles from the stated areas.

It said failure to do so would leave the KMA with no option than to take appropriate action to decongest the route.

The release said the activities of the drivers created not only undue travelling difficulties for commuters and other road users but brought about unnecessary congestion on that road corridor and the KMA would act firmly to restore sanity.
