700 media accreditation requests for Mills’s funeral

About 700 media accreditation requests have been made by news organisations to cover the funeral of President John Evans Atta Mills, the Minister of Information, Mr. Fritz Baffour has said. He however, did not say how many of these have come from foreign news organisations.

Speaking to journalists at a press conference in Accra to inform them about the arrangements for the funeral, he said according to the accreditation unit of the Ministry 700 requests have been received.

He advised journalists accredited to cover the funeral to arrive at the Independence Square by 7:00am Friday August 10, 2012 and they must be dressed in red and black. “If you don’t have red and black, you must be in your ‘Sunday Best’ or look sharp,” he said.

President Mills who died July 24, 2012 after being ill for sometime will be buried in Accra Friday August 10, 2012. The funeral ceremony however, will begin Wednesday August 8, 2012. He was 68 years old.
