Assembly lifts ban on Musama church festival celebration

The Musama Disco Christo Church, has commended Gomoa West District Assembly for lifting the ban on the celebration of the Peace Festival of the church.

The District Security Committee banned the celebration due to misunderstandings between two factions of the church over the leadership position of the church.

The Reverend Isaac Kwesi Begyina, Acting General Secretary of the Church, and Rev. Juba Jehu-Appiah, a Senior Priest, made the commendation when the Ghana News Agency visited the church at its headquarters at Mozano near Gomoa Eshiem at the weekend.

Rev. Begyina gave the assurance that the church would help in keeping peace during the celebration expected to take place from August 24 to September 2, 2012.

Rev Jehu-Appiah, who is also member of the Gomoa West District Assembly, said the festival explained that the festival brings together members of the church both local and foreign Mozano to pray for their well-being.

He advised members to ensure peace during the celebration and “We hope no one would like to discredit the church before the Assembly”.
