The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Wednesday announced the release of the provisional results of the April 2012 Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E.).

This was contained in statement issued and signed by the Principal Public Affairs Officer, for Head of National Office Mrs. Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Thursday.

It said that one hundred and eighty (180) candidates had their subjects results cancelled for various examination malpractices, which include bringing of foreign material into the examination hall and conspiracy. Five thousand, two hundred and fifty-two (5,252) candidates results have also been withheld pending the conclusion of investigation.

The results for schools would be dispatched through the District Directors of Education, meanwhile candidates have been advised to access their results on line.

    Hello,
i think it will be best if invigilators are assured of some huge amount of money if they grab anyone copying or cheating in the examination hall. This i think will help reduce examination malpractices.

I’ve checked on many websites and there’s nothing like B.E.C.E 2012 results anywhere so like I don’t get why they should be spreading rumours like that. Or even if they are true, we should at least be given procedures to access the results provisional or otherwise.

The number of candidates who’s wrote 2012 B.E.C.E is 378,986.Out of the number, 180 candidates paper has been cancelled and also 5,252 candidates has also been held pending. So adding the 180 candidates to 5,252 candidates, we will get 5,432 candidates who’s fail.Subtracting the 378,986 from 5.432 we will also get 377,554 whic means candidates pass well in this year’s B.E.C.E .So i wish all candidates to have courage to check their results. And i hope we will pass well.

First I will like to congratulate the West African Examination Council (WEAC) for a great work done. I know it hasn’t be easy but you have tried your possible best in the provision of our results. May God bless the work of your hands

Fellow students, please lets mind the way we to on this kind of social network because people across the nation view this everyday. Congratulations to students who performed very well and to those who didn’t like their results there is more room for improvement as u climb the ladder of education to next level.

My question to WAEC is to know when (date) our selected schools will come out because many of us are very anxious……..

  47. ofirikyi

Its very sad, now that our kids determin to compete with the sooo call big schools in the country,is the same time they have their results cancelled and some went for remarking,The year that some poor district had 0.0.0 percent did [ waec] taugh of remarking or cancellation of results after marking the papers.we the parents did not heard anything like exams malpractice during and after the exams.then after marking and you realised that the poor and farmers kids are now going have the chance of going schools like Achimo,Infanst,Aggrey,Prempeh,Wesley girls, and so on to compete with the politicians kids and this is the time you have used your position here again to cancell and remark the papers again, thank u soo much for faustrating we the parents as well as our kids, because there is no justification in what [waec] is doing to the results of the bece.Like something of that sort happened on the exams day what prevented [waec] to come out early to inform public of their suspisious in some of the centres be4 marking the said papers,

i was told to type my index number and add ’12’ to it and send it to short code 1060 in order to see my placement but whenever i do it, the network replies that sending failed.

  49. ASARE EMMA JOSEPH

Mr WAEC from my investigation I have noticed that markers of the BECE examination do not mark their own subject so they don’t have any knowledge on the subject so they mark it anyhow which may lead to the destruction of someones future. Mr WAEC am pleading to you to give our papers to industrious teachers no seriousness teachers. I WISH ALL MILITARY SCHOOLS GOOD LUCK. 2 BRIGADE BASIC KUMASI

  50. Gideon Nimarko

Mr WACE i went to know when the school the school placement will be out and know who mark the peppers.

  51. John

WAEC must wake up because the pupils were writing answers done instead of answering the questions from their heads. I means the invigilators taught the pupils during the whole exam period. I call some of the results of some the schools as fick because they cheated and got those nice nice grades. thanks

Am pleading with GES to place pupils whos grrade qualify and are determing to study in school because majority of ghanaians find it difficult to go back to JHS when they do not get a school so they drop out of school and that increase the rate of social vices such as armed robbery.thank you
