Ecobank, Banco Espírito Santo agree to develop trade between Africa and Portugal

The Ecobank Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Portuguese bank, Banco Espírito Santo to develop trade and investments between Africa and Portugal.

According to Ecobank, the MoU was signed at BES’ Lisbon headquarters on July 13, 2012.

The deal between Ecobank and Portugal’s third largest bank envisages joint effort and cooperation on the network of customers and branches of both banks to support and encourage trade and investments between Portugal and Africa and in particular Lusophone Africa, a press release from Ecobank says.
