African Export-Import Bank to hold 19th AGM in China

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) will hold its 19th General Meeting of shareholders in China, the bank has announced.

In a statement to its shareholders, the Cairo-based Afreximbank said “On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are pleased to inform you that the 19th General Meeting of Shareholders of the Bank will be held at the China National Convention Center (CNCC), Beijing China, on Saturday July 14, 2012.”

Among others, provisional agenda for the AGM according to the bank are the election of the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman of the General Meeting; Review and adoption of the minutes of the 18th Annual General Meeting; Review of the Bank’s Annual Report and audited financial statements as at December 31, 2011 and also the report of the External Auditors, their appointment and remuneration.

The meeting will also consider proposals for Charter changes, the Bank indicated.
Aside the AGM, the Bank will also be organising some important events which is to deepen Africa-China relations.

On July 11, 2012, a seminar, will be organized by Afreximbank and China Eximbank on the theme: “A Dynamic South in an Uncertain World – Will Prosperity be Universalised?”.

An investment forum will be held which will see the formal launching in Beijing of an Africa-China business forum, it noted
