Origin8, AdSpace to merge

Origin8 Limited and AdSpace, advertising companies in Ghana, are in the process of merging as part of the new strategic direction of their managements.

A statement signed by Mr Kofi Asmah, Chief Executive Officer of Origin8, copied to Ghana News Agency on Wednesday in Accra, said the merged company would be known as Origin8 and added that “Given the increasingly competitive nature of the local marketing communications industry, the merger of Origin8 and AdSpace is designed to increase the market share of both companies”.

It said it would generate economies of scale that would benefit clients and that “The considerable benefits that would be derived by bulk buying media particularly would be passed on to clients.”

The statement said “By combining the skills, expertise and experience of the two companies, we expect to deliver even greater value and the superior service that our clients have associated with us over the years”.

It said as part of the processes that would culminate into the merger, a number of initiatives both internal and external were being rolled out, new branding and a new logo had been developed.

The statement said “The new Origin8 brand is fresh, daring and original. The new logo incorporates the 8-ball which represents the winning ball in a pool game.’

It said  Origin8 remains committed to churning out world-class marketing communication solutions that are designed to help drive brands and businesses forward.

Established in 1998, Origin8 is arguably the most creative agency in Ghana, with most awards from Advertising Association of Ghana, referred to as Gong-Gong Awards.

Origin8 has handled many brands in Ghana including MTN, Guinness, GSMF and other brands in the banking and FMCG industries.

Established in 2000, AdSpace is one of the most-awarded agencies in Ghana. It handles a host of brands in many industries including UBA, GHACEM and Wrigley’s.
