Train youth holistically to be responsible adults – Minister

Ofosu Ampofo – Local Govt. Minister

Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has underscored the need to train youth holistically in order for them to grow to become responsible adults.

Addressing the 2012 Life Camp of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) at Sakumono, where the youth of the church have been assembled, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo reminded them that as leaders of tomorrow, the youth would be able to withstand the test of time if they allowed themselves to be moulded in a holistic manner by their leaders.

He urged Christian youths to take full advantage of the numerous spiritual  training programmes offered by the church in order to be guided by the power of the Holy Spirit and be imbibed with value and positive things as well as being able to withstand life challenges of the contemporary world.

“Make the best use of your time and work hard, for through diligence, dedication, and commitment, you will succeed.”

On ICT, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo, who is also the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Tema West, advised the youth to look at the positive side of the use of computers and not to waste time on the negative and bad aspects only to ruin their lives.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo urged them to accord the aged the necessary respect, dignity and honour so that the elderly would in turn impart to the youth, their wisdom, knowledge, and rich life experiences.

The theme for this year’s Life Camp is: “Looking Unto Jesus.”
