Ghanaian receives top Japan Honour

The Government of Japan has conferred on Mr Joseph K. Hokey, a Japanese Order, “The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays.”

The Order was conferred on Mr Hokey, a Ghanaian who worked for the Embassy of Japan in Ghana for 38 years until he retired in 2009.

A statement issued by the Embassy of Japan in Ghana copied to Ghana News Agency said the Japanese Government conferred the honour on Mr Hokey on  April 29, this year.

It said Mr Hokey was presented with the award at a ceremony held at the Residence of the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana on June 21.

The Order is bestowed upon individuals of merit, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the activities of a Japanese overseas establishment.
