The National Communications Authority (NCA) has confirmed that telecoms operator, Glo Mobile Ghana Limited (Glo) has honoured, in full, the sanctions imposed on the company by the Authority for failing to meet its network roll-out obligations in its Mobile Cellular Licence.

Glo was granted an “Annex F of the Mobile Cellular Licence” to roll-out its network to cover six regions, that is, two regions per year within the first three years from the effective date of the licence.

But the mobile operator breached the licence condition by failing to roll-out its network which led to the NCA imposing a penalty of $200,000.

According to a statement issued by the Director General of the NCA, Paarock Asuman VanPercy, Glo has since settled the penalty “in full”.

Glo launched it commercial operations on April 29, 2012.
