South Sudan joins FIFA

South Sudan is now a member of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

The nation becomes the 209th member of the Association.

South Sudan’s membership was approved at the 62nd FIFA Congress held in Budapest, Hungary on May 25, 2012. The Congress was chaired by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter.

South Sudan became a CAF member in February this year. The country’s football association is chaired by Mr Chabur Goc Alei.
