UNDP to launch first Africa Human Development Report

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on May 15, 2012 will launch the first Africa Human Development Report.

The report, titled “Towards a Food Secure Future,” explores the paradox of why hunger continues to be so prevalent on the continent.

According to the UNDP, the report argues that human development in sub-Saharan Africa can only be fully realized when there is food security for all.

The launch of the report will come just days ahead of the G8′s 2012 Summit at Camp David in Maryland, USA to which African leaders are invited to discuss food security on the continent.
