Multilateral Development Banks debate private sector integrity

The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, will host the 3rd Multilateral Development Banks’ Conference on Private Sector Integrity from May 10-12, 2012.

The event will take place in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.

Delegates from the Asian Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, Inter-American Development Bank, Inter-American Investment Corporation, the Islamic Development Bank, and European Investment Bank will participate in the conference.

In a statement, the AfDB said the conference will focus on operational elements of Multilateral Development Banks’ integrity standards and how these are implemented in projects and operations.

The Bank believes that integrity standards are reflected in anti-corruption and anti-fraud representations.

The conference will also provide an opportunity for participants to raise questions, share knowledge and explore ways for harmonization in terms of approach.
