Ecobank employs over 23,000 in Africa

Africa’s transnational bank, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated  (ETI) says it has employed 23,355 people as at the end of December 2011.

The figures are in the end of year financial report of the bank, published ahead of its Annual General Meeting in the Togolese capital Lome in June 2012.

According to ETI, together with its subsidiaries, they provide retail, corporate and investment banking services throughout sub-Saharan Africa outside South Africa. The bank operates in 33 countries.

In 2011 ETI spent a total of $1.6 million on social activities such as sports sponsorships and donations to hospitals, and education, it said.
