Hundreds rush to Globacom offices in Oguaa for reserved numbers

There was near stampede in Cape Coast at the newly opened offices of Global Communications popularly known as “Globacom” or  “Glo” as hundreds of people rushed there to collect their reserved numbers.

The security men attached to the offices had a hectic time controlling the crowd who made frantic efforts to enter into the offices to be served.

Some customers who spoke to the GNA expressed delight that the company had finally started its operations and were highly expectant that it will perform better than the other six which were already in operation.

Officials of Glo could not speak to the GNA because they were busy serving the large number of customers, some of whom complained for waiting so long in a queue in the scorching sun.

Miss Victoria Tachie-Mensah, also a customer, said the only network she had used for a long time had disappointed her as for some-time now she kept losing call credits on her phone through bad connections and errors in connections whilst browsing.

Another customer, Mr Gerald Baidoo, said he uses all the networks but will swap to Glo because he was positive that it will deliver better services stressing that the problems associated with the existing networks were sometimes unbearable and unacceptable.

Many of the people around expressed great satisfaction about the implementation of the number portability by the National Communications Authority (NCA) saying they would have the freedom to move to any network at their convenience.
