WAGPCo to review contractual agreement on shipment of West African gas pipelines

The West African Gas Pipelines Company (WAGPCo) has hinted that the contractual agreement  with  N-Gas Company would be reviewed to accommodate other companies that wished to use the pipelines to ship gas.

N-Gas is the only company that ships gas through the pipelines.

“The initial agreement with N-Gas, as the only gas shipper, will be amended to allow other shippers to have access to the pipelines. We have made this known to the companies that are interested in shipping gas to sub-Saharan African to come forward with their contractual agreements,’’ the BusinessDay quoted Adeniji as saying.

Adeniji indicated that Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin had signed an agreement for the development of the West African Gas Pipelines project based on private investment and commercial principles, the publication reported April 30, 2012.
