Construction works to start on Fisheries University at Anomabo this week

The Deputy Central Regional Minister, Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, has said construction work on the Fisheries University to be sited at Buranamoa near Anomabo would take off this week.

Inaugurating electrification project at Buranamoa, Mr Quansah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman West, said the Fisheries University, an affiliate of the University of Cape Coast, would train fishermen on modern fishing methods to curb the decline in marine resources due to bad fishing practices.

Mr Quansah commended Buranamoa community for releasing land for the university and also for their communal spirit in supporting the electrification project which was initiated under the Self-Help Electrification Project (SHEP).

He urged the people to use the electricity to improve their standard of living through establishment of small cottage industries and appealed to pupils to take advantage of the electricity to study hard.
