Ghana makes first appearance at IFA Global Press Conference

IFA GPC2013About 300 technology journalists from all over the world will assemble in the port city of Dubrovnik, southern Croatia in northern Europe for the 2012 edition of the IFA Global Press Conference, and for the first time Ghana is represented.

The event is the sixth, and scheduled from April 12 to 15, 2012, the organisers have announced.

Ghana will be represented by ghanabusinessnews.com, the country’s leading online business news portal.  53 countries are represented and only four are from Africa. These are South Africa, Nigeria, Algeria and Ghana.

In a letter announcing secured permission for the Managing Online Editor of ghanabusinessnews.com, Emmanuel K. Dogbevi to enter Croatia, Hauke Plambeck, Managing Director of Fairpros, and official representative for West, Central and Southern Africa of Messe Berlin, wrote “We are all looking forward to welcoming you and I’m happy to say that, it’s the first time a journalist from Ghana takes part in the IFA Global Press Conference. This is great!.”

Germany has the largest number of media representatives – 19, followed by Italy and South Korea each with 16 journalists attending.

South Africa has three, Nigeria – two and Algeria and Ghana have one representative each.

According to organisers, Messe Berlin of Germany, the event has a unique format with industry power briefings, a press conference as well as exhibits from key representatives of the consumer electronics and home appliances industries.

The press conference precedes the biggest global consumer electronics and home appliances exhibition set for August 31 to September 5, 2012 in Berlin, Germany.
