World Bank Presidency: Nigeria’s Okonjo-Iweala to be interviewed first

Nigerian Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will be the first of the three persons vying for the World Bank presidency to be interviewed, according to a statement from the Bank.

Okonjo-Iweala will be interviewed by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors in Washington DC on Monday, April 9, said the Bank. She will be followed by Colombian José Antonio Ocampo (Tuesday, April 10) and Jim Yong Kim of the US ( Wednesday, April 11).

“The schedule of interviews has been agreed with the candidates based on their availability,” the Bank said.

The World Bank said it expects selection of the new President “by consensus” by the 2012 Spring Meetings with the International Monetary Fund that begin on April 20.
