Charismatic churches launch peace initiative for 2012 election

National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (NACCC) has launched a peace initiative to encourage all Christians to play an active role in helping to ensure a peaceful election.

The initiative dubbed “Peace Run” would commence on May 1 with a walk through the principal streets of Accra starting from the Tetteh Quarshie interchange to the Independence Square and it aims at arriving at appropriate strategies on how Christians all over the country could play meaningful roles in safeguarding the country’s security and stability.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, Chairman of NACCC, said it was the duty and responsibility of every Christian leader that there was a prevailing peaceful environment in order to continue God’s work.

He urged the all eligible voters to turn up massively for the biometric registration exercise scheduled to begin on March 24.
