Businesses in West, Central Africa to get legal boost

Lawyers from Central and West Africa will be meeting in the Cameroonian capital Yaounde from March 12 to 14, 2012 to discuss ways to improve legal support for doing business in the two regions.

The meeting is organized by the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), a body hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Pan African Lawyers Union.

Some 60 to 70 delegates from 23 countries will gather to discuss better legal support relating to areas such as international commercial negotiations, dispute resolution and vulture fund legislation, a statement from the AfDB said.

The seminar is expected to build on similar meetings held earlier covering the eastern, southern and northern African regions.
