African Development Bank drawing up ten-year long term strategy

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) says it is in the process of formulating a Long Term Strategy (LTS) to guide its operations in Africa for a ten-year period between 2013 and 2022.

The LTS will take account of the key opportunities and challenges that will drive Africa’s development over the coming decade, the Bank said in a statement March 8, 2012

It will supersede the Medium Term Strategy, which covers the period from 2008 and 2012, and which currently guides the work of the AfDB.

The AfDB therefore says it is inviting comments and suggestions from all stakeholders on this forthcoming LTS.  These insights and recommendations will be a critical input to the final strategy.

Consultations will close on April 30, 2012, it said.
