AngloGold inaugurates GH¢60,000 water filtration system

A GH¢60,000 Lacron water filtration system has been inaugurated for the people of Teberebie by Mr. Sicelo Ntuli, the Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Limited (AAIL).

The facility, which will store 20, 000 liters of water, was funded by AAIL in collaboration with the Teberebie community.

Inaugurating it, Mr Ntuli said the facility would improve the supply of portable water to their host communities.

He said the company had put in place measures to hook the Teberebie community to the main source of water, the Bonsa River, which is having challenges with the treatment of water by the Ghana Water Company due to the excessive pollution from illegal miners who operate in the River.

Mr. Ntuli appealed to the community to support the Water and Sanitation Committee to enable them to maintain the facility and also ensure the constant supply of water to the community.

Mrs. Christina Cobbinah, the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipal Chief Executive, thanked AAIL for the assistance it had been giving the assembly.
