WEF honours Ghanaians Simons, Swaniker with “Young Global Leader” award

The World Economic Forum (WEF), organisers of the annual Davos conference has honoured two young Ghanaians, Bright Simons and Fred Swaniker with the “Young Global Leader” 2012.

Simons is the President of the Mpedigree Network, and Swaniker is the co-Founder of the African Leadership Academy in Ghana and South Africa respectively.

The two have been nominated among distinguished young leaders below the age of 40, a press release from the WEF has said.

The Executive Chairman of the WEF, Professor Klaus Schwab, was quoted as saying, “This honour is bestowed by the World Economic Forum each year to recognize the most distinguished young leaders nominated below the age of 40 from around the world.”

Additonally, Swaniker is a co-founder of the Africa Leadership Network and Simons is a researcher at the IMANI Center for Policy & Education.
