Ghana-Chile friendly: Stevanovic, two players yet to secure US visa – FA

Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says some members of the Black Stars team left Accra Sunday evening to the United States without coach Goran Stevanovic and two other players.

An FA statement February 27, 2012 read “The Ghana Football Association can confirm that Mr. Goran Stevanovic, head coach of the Black Stars and two other players; Emmanuel Baffour and Richard Mpong are yet to secure U.S. traveling visas.”

If travelling visas are granted in time, they will travel to the U.S for the friendly against Chile, said the FA on its website.

The nation’s football governing body however indicates that assistant coach, Kwesi Appiah is “taking charge of the team until Stevanovic joins the group.”

Ghana plays against Chile at the PPL Park in Philadelphia in an international friendly February 29, 2012.
