Businessman fined for posing as an accountant

Collins Ofori, a businessman, has been fined GH¢150 or in default 12 months imprisonment in hard labour for dishonestly claiming to be a senior management accountant of Golden Star Bogoso Prestea Limited.

He pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that in October 2011, the Security Department of the company received the convict’s complimentary card bearing the name and logo of the company.

The convict also posted on his Facebook wall that he was an employee of the company.

Inspector Amponsah said on January 25, Collins Ofori was seen at the premises of the company and was arrested and handed over to the police.
