Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust launched to support Commonwealth Member States
The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust was February 6, 2012 officially launched to support charitable projects and organisations across the Commonwealth.
The Trust, funded from the private sector, governments and public subscriptions, is to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s sixty-year contribution to the Commonwealth.
Even though the Trust is not an initiative of the UK government, the British High Commission in Accra on its website said Prime Minister David Cameron has confirmed significant UK support for the Trust, promoting contributions from across the Commonwealth, and by making a multi-million pound contribution.
