Community raises GH¢10,500 to fund development projects

Residents of Piase in the Bosomtwe District on Friday realized GH¢10,500.00 at a fund raising harvest in aid of the tarring of a road linked to the old town.

Estimated at GH¢100,000.00, the project is being undertaken through self-help with support from natives resident in Accra and Kumasi and other philanthropists.

Dr Joe Oteng-Adjei, the Minister of Energy, promised to finance the construction of a GH¢30,000.00 mechanized borehole for the community.

He commended the self-help spirit of the people and donated GH¢500.00 in support of the road project.

Dr Oteng-Adjei advised the electorate to register massively when the voters’ register opens to ensure that a competent parliamentary candidate was elected to represent the constituency.

Mr Simon Osei Mensah, Member of Parliament, for the area advised them to desist from any acts that may spark political violence during the impending parliamentary and presidential elections.

He later donated 200 bags of cement to aid in the development of the water project.

Mr Edward Nti-Berko, the District Chief Executive who on behalf of the assembly donated 250 bags of cement, advised the community to ensure accountability in execution of the project.

Nana Osei Afriyie Gyamerah, Chief of Piase, expressed the gratitude of residents to the donors and gave the assurance that the funds and materials would be used judiciously.
