World commercial services trade rises 12% – WTO

World exports in commercial services increased by 12% in the third quarter of 2011 compared to the same quarter of 2010, according to the latest World Trade Organisation (WTO) data released January 20, 2012.

The surge of the trade is in terms of balance-of-payments basis and current price, the organisation said in a brief statement on its website.

“Overall, in the first nine months of 2011, exports of commercial services grew by 13% year-on-year,” said the WTO which aggregated the data from individual reporters’ quarterly balance-of-payments statistics taken from the IMF and Eurostat, supplemented with estimates for missing data, as well as national sources.
