President Mills interacts with Castle staffers

President Atta Mills

President John Evans Atta Mills on Tuesday set  the tone for work on the first working day of an election year, 2012, with series of meetings in the morning with key Ministers of State on pertinent national issues.

He toured the various units at the Castle, Osu to welcome staff back to work, and urged them to give of their best during the New Year.

Full of energy, President Mills interacted with staff at the canteen, the Castle clinic, transport section, fire service unit and security personnel and wished them the best for 2012.

However, he reminded them that there would be challenges, but was optimistic that the citizenry would overcome them.

President Mills asked the staff to continue to support work of the government.

The annual New Year interaction is President Mills’ way of building esprit de corps among the workers.

Mr  Koku Anyidoho, Director of Communications at the Presidency, said President Mills was of the view that leaders did not have to lead from afar.

“President Mills want to lead from close range for the staff to have the needed motivation,” Mr Anyidoho added.
