Ghanaians urged to vote for people with sterling qualities

Reverend Pius Smith Ansah, Presiding Elder of the Cape Coast Diocese of the AME Zion Church, has called on Ghanaians to reject politicians who would approach them with money for their votes.

He made the appeal during the watch night to usher in the New Year.

He said with the country’s fledgling democracy, there was the need to vote for people who are God fearing and possess the necessary sterling qualities to manage the affairs of the country.

Rev Ansah called on political parties to educate their supporters to comport themselves during campaigns to ensure peaceful elections.

He said Ghana needs peace to promote its better Ghana agenda and appealed to the congregation to love one another and eschew negative tendencies such as nepotism, hatred, abuse of office and insult of the elderly.

He appealed to Christians not to make mockery of their new year messages but adopt them and make use of such appeals.
