Let discipline be our guiding principle in 2012 – Bishop Ametefe
The Right Reverend Winfred Habel Yao Ametefe, Tema Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church, has underscored the need for Ghanaians to let discipline be their watch word in 2012.
“We should always let discipline be our guiding principle for we are not in the jungle. We all cannot be dragged into the army to learn discipline, but self discipline is better than external discipline, we should always remember. There should be discipline on our roads, in our work places, in our endeavour. To make money, discipline should be our guide in 2012.”
Making the the call in his New Year message, Bishop Ametefe also urged Ghanaians to be humble since in his view, “in humility you will respect suggestions from others no matter where they are coming from”.
The Rt. Rev. Ametefe advised Ghanaians to avoid tribalism, adding “if we all remember that we are first and foremost Ghanaians, all hatred for tribe would cease”.
On next year’s elections, Bishop Ametefe appealed to Ghanaians, especially members of political parties, media personnel and all those who play major roles during polls to comport themselves and respect the electoral laws.
“Let us together kick out negative customs that turn to destroy our lives as Ghanaians. Let us all together kick out gayism from the society before it destroys us.”
